Joshua Tree Engagement Session

Have you ever had something totally random happen that was amazing and if you were just a minute later you would have missed it? That happened to us on our trip to California. We were pretty bummed when we weren’t going to have a couple to photograph in Joshua Tree. Our couple had to cancel for work reasons and we had to scramble to find a couple to replace them.

After that, we tried looking everywhere…Facebook, instagram, our airbnb hosts, venues and nothing worked out. We decided to stop searching and head over to the Integratron for a sound bath. We had the most amazing experience and we highly recommend it! Afterwards, we got up enough courage to ask one of the couples there to come out for a shoot. We were turned down. After accepting the fact that we weren’t going to have a couple to photograph, we decided to head over to Joshua Tree anyway to go explore.

We headed into the park and saw a cute couple by the restrooms. We were a little hesitant to ask them. However, we thought what do we have to lose? Johnny & Sierra enthusiastically said yes to a shoot. We met them the next day and had a 4 hour long session. They were up for anything and just had a blast. Afterwards, they asked us to grab and drink and celebrate Cinco de Mayo at a local bar. After rounds of shots and beers, we laughed until the bar closed down.

It’s pretty crazy how things like this work out. In addition, she just got a tree of life tattoo a few weeks ago on her arm! How coincidental is that? Above all, Johnny and Sierra are pretty awesome people and we wish them the best as they make their way to Alaska in their Fiesta.
